Weather The Storm!!!

Just the other day, I was talking to Sister Long, one of the Mother's of the Church. I was congratulating her on celebrating her 77th birthday!

As we talked about how God has blessed us and just how good he has been and continues to be, I shared with her how lately my attitude had been really "Ugly!" I had experienced some trials in my life that seemed to occur back to back to back, almost relentlessly! It literally took every fiber in my being to hold onto God's Unchanging Hand!

As she and I were sharing our experiences, a severe thunderstorm came through her neighborhood. What started as drizzle became rain, thunder, strong winds, large hail and lightning! The storm was so strong that I could hear it through the phone! And although the storm was in her neighborhood and had not approached mine yet, I knew before long, it would come! And it did come!

And so it is with life. Severe storms come to everyone's neighborhood - Eventually. Just like a natural thunderstorm, it cannot stay forever - it will eventually pass over, and the sun will shine again.

Notice that some storms destroy structures and even take lives! Other storms simply break branches off of trees and blow trash cans over. But one thing is for sure - No matter the strength of the storm. It will pass - it has to pass!

As far as my personal storm. This too will pass!

As time passes, the storm becomes weaker and weaker, yet I become stronger and stronger - Why? Because God's strength is made perfect in our weakness. When we are weak He is strong! 2 Corinthians 12:9 reads:

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." KJV

God, I thank you for the storms in my life. These storms have strengthened my character, and have strengthened my faith in YOU. These storms have been a very humbling experience for me. One of which I am now grateful for. These storms yet prove that without YOU - I can do nothing!

God, I would be remised if I did not thank you for carrying me through each and every one of them! Thanks to YOU - I Am Still Standing!!! I Have Weathered The Storm!!!

Are you facing a storm today?

What will it take for you to be able to weather your storm?

Do you have people who function as anchors, stabilizing you through prayer and moral support?

Stand still and see the salavation of the Lord! Exodus 14:13 (part A); 2 Chronicles 20:17 (part A)

Be Blessed!
